이규식은 서울시립미술관 전시교육과 학예연구사로, 난지미술창작스튜디오의 프로그램과 국제교류를 기획·운영하고 있다. 난지미술창작스튜디오 20주년 기념전 《사랑의 기원》(서울시립미술관 서소문본관, 2026), 서울시립미술관×재외문화원 순회전 《세계의 저편》(도쿄·홍콩·오사카 한국문화원, 2024), 《플레어》(WESS, 2023), 《잠재감각》(배렴가옥, 2022), 《작은 불화》(탈영역우정국, 2020), 《뉴노멀》(오래된 집, 2020) 등의 전시를 기획했다. 퀴어와 소수자에 대한 관심을 바탕으로 전시와 기관이 동시대의 사회적 조건에 개입하는 방식에 관심을 가져왔다. 최근에는 공공미술관의 레지던시를 중심으로 창작 지원과 국제교류, 예술가와 기관 사이의 관계를 살피며 변화하는 미술 환경에서 레지던시의 역할과 가능성을 모색하고 있다.
Gyusik Lee is a curator at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), where he develops and manages programs and international exchange initiatives at Nanji Residency SeMA. He has curated exhibitions including Amor Ex Machina (Seoul Museum of Art, 2026), marking the 20th anniversary of SeMA Nanji Residency; Far, Far Side of the World (SeMA × KCC Touring Exhibition at the Korean Cultural Centers in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Osaka, 2024); Flare (WESS, 2023); Crypesthesia (Baeryeom House, 2022); Minor Infelicities (Post Territory Ujeongguk, 2020); and New Normal (Old House, 2020). Grounded in an interest in queer and minority issues, he has explored how exhibitions and art institutions engage with contemporary social conditions. More recently, his work has focused on artist residencies, examining support for artistic production, international exchange, and the relationship between artists and institutions, while considering the evolving role and possibilities of residency programs within a changing art landscape.
